Safety Seminar: Naloxone Training
Tuesday, February 4, 2025 (8:30 AM - 10:00 AM) (EST)
Description
The Medina County Safety Council is pleased to partner with the Medina County Health Department to provide a "Safety Seminar: Naloxone Training" to Medina County businesses.
The educational presentation and dispensing of naloxone kits are a free service provided by the Medina County Health Dept. to our community.
The purpose of this Safety Seminar is the following:
- To increase awareness regarding the past and current Opioid Overdose Crisis (nationally, state, and county wide)
- To provide resources (national, state, and county)
- To identify an overdose, administer naloxone, and provide supportive care
Through Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided with Naloxone), the Medina County Health Department is able to provide free Naloxone kits to businesses interested in having them at their workplace. (If your business is outside Medina County, you can still receive a kit if there is not a Project DAWN program in your community.)
Please note the following important details about the free Naloxone kits for businesses:
#1. If you are interested in receiving a Naloxone kit for your business to take with you at the conclusion of the in-person training on February 4, once registered you will receive a link to complete the Health Department's pre-order form by Monday, January 27 at 5:00pm to ensure your request is filled and ready for pick-up the day of the training. (If you want a kit and do not complete the pre-order form in time, you can request a kit at a later date and pick-up from the Medina County Health Department when it's ready.)
#2. By attending the training, you are not required to request a kit for your business, either as a pre-order or after the training. You can attend the training to learn more about Naxolone and decide at a later date to request a kit from the Medina County Health Department.
If you have any questions regarding this workshop, please contact the Medina County Safety Council at (330) 723-8773 or safety@medinaohchamber.com.
(If you are participating in the FY25 BWC Rebate Program, attendance at this seminar will count as 1 attendance credit towards the 10 minimum needed to receive the FY25 rebate.)
